Life release is a buddhist practice of saving the lives of animals who are to be killed and releasing them or protecting them. It is a powerful practice. Text will be provided. Earthworms will be purchased and we will be releasing them together at Green Lake park. Please bring a small garden shovel and gloves, if you have them. Saga Dawa is the entire fourth month of the Tibetan lunar calendar (which begins May 10, 2013) and celebrates the Birth, Death and Parinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni. These are observed together on May 25, 2013 as one of the Four Great Festivals called Saga Dawa Duchen.

There will be a special Long Life event honoring H.E. Garchen Rinpoche at Garchen Buddhist Institute in Arizona May 21-25, 2013. Even if we cannot be there in person we can make fervent supplication for Rinpoche's long life.

Four Immeasurables by Garchen Rinpoche
May all sentient beings have happiness and love, the cause of happiness.
May all sentient beings be free from suffering and self-grasping, the cause of suffering.
May all sentient beings attain great bliss beyond suffering by recognizing their own true nature, self-knowing, innately clear awareness. -Translated by Ina Bieler
